OOn April 10, Ebrahim Al-Hajri, President of Khalifa University in the United Arab Emirates, led a delegation to visit Sichuan University (SCU). Wang Jinsong, President of SCU met the guests in the VIP Hall of Mingde Building on the Wangjiang campus. Liu Chao, Vice President of SCU, and heads of relevant units together attended the event.

On behalf of the university, Wang warmly welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced SCU. He noted that SCU has always dedicated to upholding the opening-up of education, actively promoting international exchanges and cooperation. In particular, through initiatives such as University Immersion Program (UIP) and the “Global Horizons” program, SCU continually broadens its students’ international perspectives and enhances their cross-cultural communication skills. He expressed his hope that both sides will further strengthen exchange, and continue to advance cooperation in areas such as mutual visits of faculty and students, academic exchanges, and scientific research, thereby injecting new momentum into the development of China-Arab comprehensive strategic partnership.
Ebrahim Al-Hajri expressed his appreciation for the university’s warm reception. He remarked that SCU is a prestigious institution with a long history, comprehensive disciplines, and profound cultural heritage. Khalifa University attaches great importance to its friendly cooperative relationship with SCU, and he looks forward to further deepening collaboration in joint student training, faculty exchanges, and the accelerated development of a Joint Laboratory for Clean Energy and Environment, aiming to jointly cultivate talents with international competitiveness.

Representatives of both parties, Wang Jinsong and Ebrahim Al-Hajri, signed two agreements - agreement on Integrated Bachelor-Master/Doctorate Programme and agreement on Joint Laboratory for Clean Energy and Environment. These agreements mark a new milestone in cooperation between the two universities in various areas such as talent cultivation and scientific research.
