On December 27, Mr. José Miguel Vial Valdivieso, Consul General of Chile in Chengdu, and his delegation visited Sichuan University (SCU). Wang Jinsong, President of SCU, met the guests in the VIP Hall of Mingde Building on Wangjiang campus. Zhao Changsheng, Vice President of SCU, and heads of other related units attended the meeting.

On behalf of SCU, Wang Jinsong welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced SCU. He pointed out that SCU, upholding the opening-up of education, has enhanced exchanges and cooperation with Chilean universities. Both sides have carried out various talent cultivation projects and academic activities. In particular, SCU has signed an inter-university MOU with University of Chile. On the basis of previous cooperation, Wang hoped that two parties would strengthen communication and exchange, deepen practical collaboration, jointly promote the high-quality educational development in both China and Chile.

José Miguel Vial Valdivieso expressed his gratitude for SCU’s warm reception. He highlighted that SCU has a long history with rich cultural heritage. Chile attaches great importance to its cooperation with SCU. He hoped that this visit would facilitate the collaboration between SCU and Chilean universities, foster China-Chile youth friendly exchanges, contribute to the development of bilateral relationship.
