The 10thWest China International Forum on Precision Medicine, hosted by Sichuan University and organized by West China Hospital (WCH), Sichuan University, West China Medical Technology Transfer Center and Tianfu Jincheng Laboratory (Frontier Medical Center), was held in Chengdu from September 27 to 29.

More than eight hundred guests and experts attended the forum, including Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Wei Yuquan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Lin Dongxin, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Bian Xiuwu, Academician of CAS, Wu Tangchun, Academician of CAE, Chen Shilin, Academician of CAE , as well as representatives from the People's Government of Sichuan Province, Sichuan Provincial Commission of Health, Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Sichuan University, West China Center of Medical Sciences of Sichuan University, West China Hospital and other domestic and foreign experts. Professor Li Weimin, Dean of the Institute of Respiratory and Comorbidity, WCH, presided over the conference.
Ye Ling, Vice President of Sichuan University, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the university. She pointed out that the university has attached great importance to high-quality development of medical discipline, implementing a series of policies to promote the medical discipline of WCH into the world first-class level. She hoped that the in-depth exchanges among experts would generate more new theories, methods and technologies to enable the development of precision medicine and its integration with international standards, contributing the strength of SCU and wisdom of WCH to the construction of Healthy China.
Professor Luo Fengming, dean of WCH, presided over the press conference of West China Precision Medicine Industry Innovation Achievements. Three achievements researched and developed by Professor Li Weimin’s team, had been released: the C-Lung-RADS, the Intelligent Malignancy Risk Stratification and Precision Management System of Pulmonary Nodules in China; high-throughput molecular diagnostic products for respiratory pathogenic microorganisms; and the diagnostic kit for target gene mutations in lung cancer therapy.
The forum set up one keynote forum and five sub-forums. Academicians Wei Yuquan, Lin Dongxin, Bian Xiuwu, Wu Tangchun, Chen Shilin and other experts shared ideas on the key cutting-edge issues in the field of precision medicine, discussed the development prospect and innovation trend in precision medicine and its industrial transformation in order to promote commercialization and application of innovation achievements in scientific research, as well as human health and economy development.
