On July 2nd, Song Yonghua, President of the University of Macao, led an inspection team of higher education officials from Macao on a special visit to Sichuan University. SCU President Li Yanrong and Vice President Yan Shijing welcomed the delegation.
President Li gave a brief introduction to SCU and outlined a number of recent key developments, explaining that Sichuan University attaches a great deal of importance to its cooperative partnerships with universities in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Macao, as is evidenced by several new programs introduced in recent years. Li stressed that he looked forward to the increased cooperation and exchange with SCU’s partners in Macao that this visit promised to bring about.
Representing the delegation from Macao, President Song Yonghua, congratulated his hosts on the tremendous progress at Sichuan University, his alma mater. Delegates expressed their hopes to deepen ties with Sichuan University in the near future and to promote student exchanges, joint education programs, and collaborative scientific research.
At the close of the meeting, Li Yanrong and Song Yonghua signed two MoU’s, namely, the “Research Collaboration and Academic Exchange Agreement between Macanese Universities and SCU” and the “Undergraduate Student Exchange Agreement between Macanese Universities and SCU.”
