On Mar. 23, 2017, former Executive Director of the Center for Pakistan Study, Prof. Chen Jidong was awarded Pakistan Civil Award of ‘Tamgha-i-Imtiaz’ by the President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain at the President’s House of Islamabad for his excellent work and contribution both to the Center and to Sino-Pakistan friendship and cooperation.

Sichuan University has in long-term valued understanding and research on our friendly neighbor---Pakistan, dedicated to introduce the developments, changes and fruits of Pakistan to our Chinese people, done large quantities of jobs and born a series of important fruits in academic and non-governmental communication between China and Pakistan, and become one of the academic centers for Pakistan studies in China.

PSC takes the goals of promoting Sino-Pakistan friendship, improving communication and cooperation in the areas of economy, culture, education and social affairs. It is a window for introducing Pakistan, serving as a platform to carry out academic researched of Pakistan, it is also a bridge for promoting Sino-Pakistan exchanges. All these activities will strengthen mutual understanding and communication between people of China and Pakistan, particularly the young students of both countries.
