On December 7th, 2015, the China Academy of Engineering unveiled the roster of academicians newly elected, among which Prof. Yuzhong Wang of the College of Chemistry of SCU was elected as an academician of the Chemical, Metallurgy and Material Engineering Department, China Academy of Engineering (CAE).

Prof. Yuzhong Wang is the vice-dean of the College of Chemistry of SCU and director of three research bases at national, ministerial and provincial levels, respectively, including the National Engineering Laboratory of Eco-Friendly Polymeric Materials, Engineering Research Center under Ministry of Education for Eco-Friendly Polymeric Materials as well as the Key Laboratory of University in Sichuan for Degradable and Flame-Retardant Polymeric Materials.

Prof. Wang’s research is mainly oriented at eco-friendly materials. He has made innovative achievements in the fields of halogen-free and flame-retardant polymer material, low-cost biodegradable plastics and recycling of waste polymer material in particular.
