On April 13th, Academician Xie Heping, president of SCU, visited the Technical University of Munich, Germany.

President Xie had a meeting with Dr. Meng Liqiu, EVP of the Technical University of Munich, during which they underlined the importance and necessity of positively advancing the multi-dimensional and multi-lateral cooperation and exchanges between both universities. As the friendly relationship between the governments of both countries is stably developed, it’s the time to promote cooperation and exchanges amongst universities in both countries, Mr. Xie said, adding that both universities should grasp the opportunity and carry out cooperation in the domains such as education, economy, society, culture and new energy research.

Ms. Meng praised the speech of President Xie and expressed her willingness to promote cooperation and exchanges between both universities. Both sides reached a consensus on further promotion of cooperation and inked an agreement of cooperation in the following aspects:

1. Exchange of faculty staff and students. Establish jointly visiting professor program, long-term and short-term student exchange programs involving joint-cultivation of undergraduates, postgraduates and doctoral students; select excellent students to attend the summer programs of both sides, etc.

2. Scientific research. Encourage faculty and staff to participate in scientific cooperation platform of both universities and apply for scientific cooperation research programs, etc.

.Innovation and entrepreneurship education. Both sides will seek the possibility of establishing a high-end platform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.
