On May 22nd, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Sichuan University and University of Birmingham was held. Vice President of University of Birmingham Mr. Jon Frampton and Vice President of Sichuan University Mr. Yan Shijing along with relevant personnel of both universities attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, Mr. Yan Shijing said that the exchange of the teachers and students of both universities has reaped fruit, and the young scholars participating in the academic visit have become the mainstream of teaching and research staff in Sichuan University, bringing about a closer tie between the two universities. He hoped that both sides will further deepen cooperation, explore new cooperation mechanism and work together to cultivate outstanding talents, making more contribution to social development.
Vice President Mr. Jon Frampton spoke highly of the significant achievements made from the cooperation between the two universities. The cooperation between University of Birmingham and Sichuan University is also a path for exchanges between Britain and China, he stressed, adding that a more effective student exchange mechanism could be set up to provide more mutually beneficial exchange opportunities for the talent teams.
The two sides also exchanged views on issues such as the International Curriculum Week Exchange Project of Sichuan University and the joint training model of the master and PhD students.
