On May 11, Academician J. Fraser Stoddart,theNobel Prizelaureatein 2016, visited Sichuan University anddelivereda wonderful lecture entitled "Molecular Machinery". Prof.Stoddart introduced and presented supramolecular chemistry and other frontier technologiesin avividlyway. He shared his experience andperception in over50 years'chemistry research,and encouraged young students to study diligently and explore bravely.

After the speech, Yan Shijing, Vice President of Sichuan University,metwith Prof.J.FraserStoddart. The relevant personnel of SCUattended the meeting.

During the meeting,Prof.Yan expressed his gratitude toMr.J.FraserStoddart for his years ofsupport toSCUstudents. He hoped that Prof.J. FaserStoddartcouldvisitSCUmorefrequentlyandoffermore lectures andguidance for the construction of disciplines, personnel training and scientific research of Sichuan University.

SCUattachesgreat importance to international cooperation and exchanges, Mr.J.FraserStoddart said, adding that SCUstudentsare passionate about scientific research. I wouldlike to help more Sichuan University students toconduct exchange and further study infirst-class universities in the United States, he noted.

Mr.J.FraserStoddartis2016'sNobel PrizeLaureatein Chemistry, Academician of the Royal Society in London, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the German Academy of Natural Sciences, andtheRoyal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.Also, heis one of the most distinguished scientists in the fields of organic supramolecular chemistry and nanoscience; hehad received more than 100 awards in various fields, including International Izatt-Christensen Award in 1994, Cope Scholar Award awarded by American Chemical Society in 1999 . In 2007,QueenElizabeth II personally awarded Knight Bachelortohim. At the same year, he won the Albert Einstein World Award of Science.
