On the morning of Jun. 4, Mr. Jurgen Rodel, Vice President of Darmstadt University of Technology, visited our university. Mr. Yan Shijing, Vice President of Sichuan University, met with guests along with relevant personnel of our university.

Yan Shijing said that Darmstadt University of Technology, with a long history, has made remarkable contribution to Germany's industrial construction and talent cultivation. He hoped that the visit of Vice President Jurgen Rodel could promote the cooperation and development in the field of materials science and related disciplines of two universities, driving joint training programs for students at interuniversity and college levels. Mr. Yan also invited Mr. Jurgen Rodel to serve as a high-end foreign teacher in Sichuan University, and participate in cooperation in scientific research and training of students, so as to promote closer cooperation between the two universities.

Vice President Jurgen Rodel said that, thanks to long-term friendly relationship between Germany and China, Darmstadt University of Technology attaches great importance to the cooperative relationship with colleges and universities of China. I hope to establish cooperative relationship with Sichuan University on these preponderant disciplines, thus promoting common development of both universities, he added. Darmstadt University of Technology ranks top in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, mathematics, computer science and other fields.
